As part of the ongoing planning process for the Western Intake Partner's (WIP) Jordan Lake Water Supply Project, project team members will conduct geotechnical subsurface investigations at various locations in and around Jordan Lake.
On November 2, 2023, the Western Intake Partners (WIP) submitted a Conditional Rezoning District Application to Chatham County's Planning Department requesting to rezone the designated site for the Regional Water Treatment Facility as Conditional District-Light Industrial, aligning with its intended purpose.
The Western Intake Partners submitted an application to Chatham County’s Planning Department on November 2, 2023, to rezone the proposed Regional Water Treatment Facility site as Conditional District-Light Industrial, consistent with its proposed use.
During the evening of July 20, 2023, the WIP held a community meeting at the Chatham Community Library regarding rezoning of the site for a regional drinking water treatment facility the WIP (Chatham County, City of Durham, Town of Pittsboro and Orange Water and Sewer Authority) proposes on approximately 122 acres on Parcel Numbers 17538 and 17546, near the intersection of North Pea Ridge Road and Seaforth Road.
In April 2023, the Western Intake Partnership (WIP) will begin conducting field investigations along the proposed drinking water transmission pipeline routes for the Jordan Lake Water Supply Project.
The Western Intake Partnership (WIP) will host a public open house for the Jordan Lake Water Supply Project on January 10, 2023, at the Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro.
