Western Intake Partnership Hosts Public Open House for Jordan Lake Water Supply Project

Posted: 12/19/22

Durham, NC (December 19, 2022) – The Western Intake Partnership (WIP) will host a public open house for the Jordan Lake Water Supply Project on January 10, 2023, at the Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro.

With the growth in the Triangle region, WIP aims to secure a long-term water supply for customers of the City of Durham, Town of Pittsboro, Chatham County, and the Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) by providing access to their existing allocations of water from Jordan Lake. This project would provide access to the lake’s water supply, while protecting its other uses and natural resources – all to benefit our community. It would include the construction of a Water Intake and Treatment Facility on Jordan Lake, Booster Pumping Stations and Drinking Water Supply Pipelines to deliver high quality drinking water to the region.

At the meeting, attendees will have the opportunity to review information about the project, speak with members of the project team, and provide comments. You can drop in any time for your convenience.
